Minitablets

The innovative solution for swallowing and taste problems

A patient-friendly dosage form for swallowing and taste problems

Mini-tablets, with a compact diameter of only 3.5 mm, offer an innovative solution for patients who have difficulty swallowing large tablets or are bothered by the taste. Especially for vulnerable groups, such as the elderly and children, taking large tablets can be difficult. In addition to liquids and suspensions, mini-tablets are a reliable dosage form for customized care.

Diameter of 3.5 mm

GMP pharmacy De Magistrale Bereider (DMB) is introducing a new dosage form of tablets: so-called mini tablets. These small tablets have a diameter of 3.5 mm and offer a solution for swallowing and taste problems.

Why choose mini-tablets?

  • Good acceptance: Research shows that mini tablets are better accepted by children and parents than drinks, suspensions or powders*.
  • Reduced chance of dosing errors: The small size minimizes the risk of over- or under-dosing.
  • Neutral taste experience: Thanks to the small size of 3.5 mm, there is virtually no taste experience.
  • No loss of active ingredients: Unlike breaking or crushing large tablets, the active ingredients are retained.
  • Easy to take: Mini tablets can be taken without the addition of liquid excipients, such as custard, which reduces the risk of interaction.
  • Long-term stability: The physical and chemical stability of the formulation guarantees a shelf life of at least one year.
