Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) is currently being investigated in a randomised clinical trial 1,2,3.ÂThis study is still ongoing and the results have not yet been published. Based on the study results, low-dose naltrexone may be registered for medical use.
Off-label use and clinical application of LDN
The use of low-dose naltrexone liquid or capsules is not yet registered and is therefore considered off-label use.
Low-dose naltrexone is prescribed in a research context by doctors affiliated with post-COVID centres of expertise. 4 Treatment for post-COVID symptoms is tailored to the individual, and dosages therefore vary from patient to patient. It is important that a doctor with experience in this field determines the best therapy for a specific patient.
